Mechanical Engineer

This is a chance for a level 2 qualified maintenance plumber with mechanical plant room building services maintenance experience to join an in house estates team on a permanent basis. You will be joining the In House Estates team and be based at one of the central Campus locations in this Static Mechanical Maintenance and Plumbing role. The hours for this role are 8-4 Monday - Friday. You will be responsible for undertaking Hard Services planned preventative and reactive maintenance across all College buildings, ensuring adherence to operational, regulatory and College compliance requirements.  

The role is critical to maintaining College functions and is part of a specialist team of operational maintenance technicians focussing upon critical, essential, Statutory  and non-essential systems and asset operational maintenance.

In this mechanical maintenance role you will be responsible for:

•   Carrying out the planned preventative maintenance programme and ensure compliance with all relevant guidelines, statutory acts and regulations. Update site-specific work schedules and re-programme regularly. Working and updating via a CAFM system 

•   Taking specific responsibility for the maintenance and operation of the sites critical, HVAC services. 

•   Maintain a Safe Systems of Work process and periodically update as may be required. 

•   Conduct fault finding across all engineering infrastructures and maintain AHU, FCU, and mechanical plant room maintenance  

•   Conduct statutory system & asset testing, and report accordingly. 

•   Deal responsibly with emergencies and breakdowns.

Within this static mechanical maintenance role based on the Strand you will be working as a team and reporting to a great Manager who will encourage you to progress within your role.

For this mechanical maintenance position we are looking for:

  • At least a Level 2 plumbing qualification as a minimum or a Mechanical Maintenance degree or NVQ
  • A proven track record of mechanical plant room PPMs and reactive maintenance
  • AHU maintenance experience
  • Experience of using a CAFM system and IT literate
  • IOSH would be desirable
  • Ideally you will be available at short notice to start this new permanent role
