Within this Technical Services Manager role in central London you will be responsible for:

  • Responsible for a hard services division providing technical services on the central London campus
  • Maintaining Risk Management systems 
  • The responsibility for all Engineers and contractors involved in the delivery of the mechanical, electrical, BMS and building fabric services within the designated locations in terms of safety and quality 
  • Training and development of staff to ensure continual improvement 
  • Management of compliance applicable to Hard Services maintenance in terms of both execution and record keeping 
  • Delivery of a value-for-money service to the College 
  • Leadership with regards to energy reduction. Strategic support to the Lead Engineer to deliver the College quality, innovation, energy/carbon and value for money agenda across the area of responsibility 
  • Day to day management and accountability of the team’s budget including monthly accruals and where necessary attend budget meetings. Working with others to build the annual maintenance budget for the campus. 
  • Ensuring maintenance operations are undertaken in a safe manner 
  • Collaborating with the Asset Improvement team to deliver infrastructure projects and manage O&M information

This is a varied and busy Management role for a qualified engineer who has been promoted through the ranks into a management position. Experience of managing a team of engineers in a similar role is essential for this position. 

This role is starting initially as a 12 month contract. 

For this Maintenance Manager / Technical Services Manager role we are looking for:

  • HND/HNC in Building Services, Electrical or / and HVAC qualifications 
  • NEBOSH 
  • Extensive managerial experience of an M&E team
  • Budgetary management experience 
  • Excellent leadership skills 
  • Experience of working in critical engineering environments 
  • Experience of environmental, energy and H&S management systems
