Maintenance Assistant

This is a chance for a maintenance handyperson with building services maintenance experience to join an in house estates team on a permanent basis. You will be joining the In House Estates team and be based at one of the central Campus locations in this Static Fabric Technician role. The hours for this role are 8-4 Monday - Friday.

Within this Maintenance Assistant role in London you will be responsible for completing reactive fabric maintenance and planned preventative multi trade maintenance across the Estate, ensuring adherence to operational, regulatory and compliance requirements including minimising the risk of environmental impact and following Health and Safety processes.  

This Maintenance role will mainly involve multi trade maintenance tasks.  

The Maintenance Assistant will liaise with specialist contractors and other building dedicated engineers to maintain high quality service delivery. The Maintenance Assistant will ensure teams and clients (where applicable) are kept up to date on progress.  

This Maintenance Handyperson role in London will also involve:

•   To ensure all tasks are completed to a high standard, cost effective and maintained regularly and completed in a safe manner. 

•   Multi trade maintenance duties 

•  Working in a team of non qualified and qualified engineers 

•   Comply with all statutory, company and client specific environmental, health, safety and quality standards applicable to the college environment. 

•   Complete paperwork and comments for/on the CAFM system to a high standard 

For this Maintenance Handyperson role in London, we are looking for:

1.       Maintenance experience of basic electrics, plumbing and fabric maintenance 

2.       Strong, demonstrable competencies in building services trades 

3.       Good understanding and experience of meeting health and safety obligations regarding maintenance activities 

4.       Good communicator including good verbal communication 

5.       Ability to work from an iPad to manage work through our CAFM system 

6.       IT literate (Excel, Teams and other Microsoft packages) 

7.       Team player and flexible attitude 

8.       Ability to use, repair and maintain tools
